CTEng Entrepreneurship

Commercialization & Entrepreneurship Educational Resources

Central to Georgia Tech’s mission is a commitment to “progress and service through effectiveness and innovation in teaching, learning, research and entrepreneurship”.

CTEng trainees take advantage of multiple resources and educational opportunities centered on entrepreneurship and technology commercialization. These resources include:

  • VentureLab - Georgia Tech’s highly successful on-campus business incubator was recently ranked as the #2 startup incubator in North America.  VentureLab through its various programs such as Startup Gauntlet teaches students about evidence-based entrepreneurship and business model development and helps connect them with the resources they need to commercialize their technology.
  • Ti:GER – The Technological Innovation: Generating Economic Results (TI:GER) program is a unique interdisciplinary and inter-institutional program that prepares graduate students for the challenge of commercializing new technologies and delivering new innovations to the marketplace. Teams are assembled (one PhD and two MBAs from Georgia Tech with two Emory law students) that focus on the commercialization of a PhD student’s research.

Georgia Tech is recognized as one of the top public universities for producing startup talent. This robust startup culture combined with its comprehensive entrepreneurship curriculum provides students a rich environment to extend their focus beyond the classroom and laboratory to technology commercialization and provides real world experience essential to compete in today’s job market.
