The National Cancer Institute (NCI) announces an opportunity for awardees holding eligible NCI-funded awards to request administrative supplement funding to support augmented efforts to refine automated methodologies to obtain more accurate and reliable lifetime residential history data and linkages that would enhance cancer research.
Ideally, studies would involve existing cohorts where high quality residential histories which had been obtained by interview or other means could be used as a “gold standard” for comparison to those obtained by automated processes. Research could extend the NCI-directed pilot study, or pursue other possible methodologic directions related to the development and utility of residential histories. Investigators could use the vendor identified in NCI’s pilot study, or other possible innovative automated sources of residential history records.
Only researchers holding either an active NCI grant supported through one of the “Core Infrastructure and Methodological Research for Cancer Epidemiology Cohorts” Funding Opportunity Announcements (which include PAR-10-283; PAR-11-167; PAR-14-160; and PAR-15-104) or an active R01 or P01 grant involving substantial cohort infrastructure may submit an administrative supplement application and be the PD(s)/PI(s) on an application.
